In an interview on the Music Mania podcast, guitarist Michael Schenker shared his opinion about his brother Rudolf Schenker of the Scorpions. Michael took several jabs at his brother:
“I taught Rudolf how to play guitar. He learned from me how to write songs. He wasn't capable of writing any music. Everything I did with Klaus Meine he copied, and basically copied melodies, copied everything. He wanted to be a fraud, he wanted to be Michael Schenker, to confuse people.”
He continued: “The thing is, he’s doing the opposite of what I do. He steals things, and I focus on the art of playing guitar as self-expression. And this is the exact opposite. Rudolf just looks at what’s fashionable and copies everyone who’s successful and does the same thing, that’s all. It must be a pretty boring life, but I imagine he likes it.”
